Arranged to meet Amu for lunch at Can A, it'd been a long time since we'd met. We were arguing about who wasted more food when we were done. Haha. Amu suddenly remembered that she'd always wanted to go to The Art Gallery, at NIE, which we can see from our seats in the canteen cos NIE is right beside NTU. Or inside NTU, rather. And then we decided to go right away, we had 45minutes on hand and we knew we'd never make it if we missed this chance.
So we walked into NIE, found the Gallery deserted, and spent our time trying to make out why each artwork was given the title it had. We failed with almost all those pieces. But we did find a shattered glass pane, and couldn't figure out if it was a piece of art or an accident , since it looked too perfect to be an accident, but was cordoned off, which means it's fragile and dangerous. Have a look.
From top to bottom:
- The whole pane. I thought it was wire mesh for a second.
- Close-up of the glass.
- What things look like through that pane. Looks like some painting with a particular art technique doesn't it.
- The tree as seen from the broken pane as compared to the normal pane.
On the way out, we decided to sign the Guestbook, and under the Comments column, I asked if that pane was an accident or art. Then I wrote, "Either way, it's pretty."
I stopped at Plaza Sing on the way home to collect some of the books I ordered from OpenTrolley.com, to be collected from a shop called Toy Outpost. Haha! My reading pile grows menacingly high.

haha! sfumato technique maybe =p. and u bummer, it's cordoned off so that ppl wont touch it and damage it, or worse, cause the whole glass pane to come crashing down!!

but it can't be because of that! what if it rains. i'm sure rain drops can be just as hard as fingers.
i did wanna tell everyone, but i had SO MUCH reading to do last night that it slipped my mind. and i need to go off soon to finish reading The Odyssey.
